Spot Satellite Tracker enhances your personal safety. The compact design and rugged construction have made the Spot Tracker a must for outdoor activities where the user may be away from local help when danger or mishap occur. The Spot personal tracker device enables help to be called upon and the users location to be alerted.
How SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker Works
SPoT sends messages by a robust Simplex L-band uplink to a constellation of 40 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that currently process 2.3 messages per second tracking commercial containers and trailers around the world with a 99.4% success rate.
Four Key Functions
It has four key functions that enable users to send messages to friends, family or emergency responders based upon varying levels of need:
Alert 999 ( alert emergency services number)
Dispatches emergency services to your exact location. SPoT sends one message every 5 minutes until power is depleted or a 999 CANCEL message is sent.
Ask for Help
Requests help from friends and family from your exact location. SPoT sends one message every 5 minutes for one hour or until a HELP CANCEL message is sent. An email is sent to your contacts with a link to Google Maps™ for them to pinpoint your location. Optionally a text message can be sent to mobile phones at a slight extra cost.
Check In
Lets contacts know where you are and that you’re OK. SPoT sends three identical messages, but only the first received is delivered to you. An email is sent to your contacts with a link to Google Maps™ for them to pinpoint your location. Optionally a text message can be sent to mobile phones at a slight extra cost.
